Polly Ritchie and Diverse OT are brilliant! Would I recommend, absolutely! I have been a client of hers now for almost 10 years and as far as occupational therapists go polly is one of the best. Warm, empathetic, and inclusive Polly ensures that the client is part of the entire therapy process from the very beginning, whether it be sourcing equipment or formulating a therapy program I have always felt as if she makes me feel as the client the top priority and have always felt encouraged to actively participate in the entire therapy process, that extends to not only me but my mum, family, friends and Carers as well.
Having cerebral palsy quadriplegia and being confined to a powered wheelchair Polly has assisted me and my family in numerous ways whether it be scripting a piece of equipment i.e powered wheelchair, shower commode or hoist, I always feel able to voice my thoughts and opinions and am encouraged to do so as are my family and loved ones.
In recent times we began hydrotherapy sessions and although challenging, sessions are always engaging and have an element of fun which make hydrotherapy a highlight in my calendar. Speaking from experience Polly makes a commitment to her clients and their families which extends past office hours when needed. This is evident on many occasions but none more so than an occasion when my mother and I were staying in an inner city hotel and had loaned a hoist from an organisation that Polly was working with. Not only did she personally deliver it but when it was later discovered that the hoist was faulty and the battery was flat Polly went back and forth several times late on a Friday nonetheless, between the hotel and her office to ensure that I had a hoist that was safe and reliable.
In my mid 30s I can say I have worked with lots of occupational therapists in my time and as in all professions some are better than others. I am delighted to say that Polly is one of the best, if I could give her and Diverse OT a rating out of 10 I would give a 20! She professional, kind and her priority is always to the client, can’t recommend highly enough.
